If instruments are languages, then the piano is Dylan’s mother tongue. Originally classically-
trained, Dylan joined the Dark Side when he found his Dad’s copy of Miles Davis’ Kind Of Blue
and became hooked on jazz. Dylan eventually found himself studying jazz and contemporary
improvisation at York University, and wound up with a Specialized Honours degree.

But it didn’t stop there: Dylan’s curious ears and hunger for musical knowledge keep his playing style wide-open,
from straight-ahead jazz (solo, FreePlay Duo ), to R+B/soul (the Soul Foundation), to world fusion (autorickshaw ,
Adam “Professor” Solomon
), to contemporary free improvisation, to classical/electronica (Lara St. John ) to rock
(Honeymoon Suite)… and just about anything else in between. Image

Described as a sensitive, communicative player, Dylan brings a unique voice to the table while remaining open and
faithful to the music and the moment.
