I got my first tape recorder at age five, and at sixteen I sold my cello to buy a four-track multitrack machine. I guess I was born to be a producer.

I produce music of all styles, particularly:

  • Vocally-driven music
  • World music
  • Jazz
  • Original songwriting

I’m probably best known as an a cappella producer. I’ve worked with some of the best a cappella groups in the world, including the Swingle Singers in the UK, and The Nylons and Cadence here in Canada. I was nominated for “Best Engineer” for my work on the Cadence album “Twenty For One”, along with mixmeister Adam Messinger (Chris Brown, New Kids on the Block).

I only work on music I enjoy, which means you’ll always get the best from me.  In addition to my work in-studio as producer, engineer and session musician, I  can contract additional musicians and facilities, develop timelines and budgets, and advise on grants and other funding sources.

FreePlay Studios

I mainly work out of FreePlay Studios, my home-based recording facility. I am equipped for small and medium-sized projects as well as post-production work. Many of my clients are internationally-based and send their work to me to finish… but if you live somewhere in the world I’d like to visit, I may even be able to come to you.

If you’re wondering why you should hire a producer (or wonder exactly what a producer does), check out this article I wrote for the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America.

Creating music should be a joyous experience, and I do all I can to make it so.
